I’ve got Georgia on my mind
Sweet and juicy, they’re not to be missed.
Have you ever had a true Georgia peach? We've all heard about them, and I’m here to tell you they do live up to the hype. Thanks to the Peach Truck Tour we don’t have to use vacation time to experience this juicy, tender fruit that earned Georgia its “Peach State” title. Did you know there’s even a Peach County, GA?
Don’t ask me how I found out about the tour. Much like everything else now, it was discovered on IG. Last year one spring day, I was led down the IG tunnel and there it was. Reserve your peaches now and pick up locally when they are ready? Sounds like fun, right? It was! Next thing you know I’m dragging my husband to a nearby mall parking lot, at my specified time, to pick up our 25lb box of freshly picked Georgia peaches.
This whole experience was not only so much fun, but the peaches were amazing! They said that they were on the small side last year, due to weather conditions, which meant we had a LOT of peaches to make up 25lbs. In other words, I did a lot of peeling and pitting. I can’t wait to see what they’re like this year. To elevate the peach season experience and because I’m a sucker for a good cook book, I picked up one of their cook books while at the truck. But you could always order that individually online. It was filled with amazing peach recipes! Spoken in the voice of Forest Gump’s Bubba, I made peach bbq sauce, peach hot sauce, peach cobbler, pizza with peaches, ricotta & prosciutto, peach salsa, peach jalapeño cornbread… but my favorite was the minty peach lemonade. OMG sooooo good! Check out the recipe in the cooking and entertaining section.
Last year I felt bad because by the time I knew how much fun this whole thing was, it was too late for anyone else to get in on it. So, this year I made sure it is my very first entry in the Thanks to Evelyn section. Because this was too good not to share!

Alternatively, you can just have this sweetness delivered by mail order to your door. Personally, I loved going to pick them up and plan to make it a new summer tradition.
