They named it Phenomenal Lavender for a reason

This French hybrid lavender is a show stopper!

My garden plans started out with a dream of my own lavender garden. I did some research on which lavender I would like best and I settled on Phenomenal Lavender. It’s a beautiful, French hybrid, looser looking variety that blows gracefully in the wind (hence the amazing aroma) and grows to about 32” tall and wide. I planted these all along the border of my original garden, which is quite large. I’ve now got so much lavender that I have to transplant some to a new bed I’m planning. Shhhh… don't tell my husband. This plant thrives in full sun and dry soil. This was perfect for my yard since it is a new construction home, therefore not many mature trees inside our property line. After the first season you can pretty much leave it alone, aside from cutting it, sharing it, and enjoying it inside. Oh, and the pollinators, butterflies and hummingbirds love it!! But the deer do not, a huge bonus in my neighborhood. This year I’m going to try and figure out how to make a lavender simple syrup for summer cocktails. Now we’re talkin’! Check back for that in the cooking and entertaining section.
